Default Today's Date Function

Is there a function or something else I can put in a cell that will always give me today's date?

Yes, Excel has a TODAY() worksheet function. Put this formula in a cell:

=TODAY()

Hope that helps...

Thank you! I should know. I should also know how to go to a list of commonly used functions but today I'm just not remembering such things.

Hi,

Just to the left of where you would type your formulas into the formula bar, click on the button with the "fx" icon. It will bring up a window where you can look for functions by category, etc...
