This is a bit of an oddball, but hopefully someone may have some insights, or a workaround ?
I have a complex Excel 365 workbook which is backed up to OneDrive. To allow me to have easy access to a large number of macros, I have created a Ribbon group full of labelled shortcuts to the macros I need. That works very well, or at least it did until yesterday . . . whenever I now click on one of the shortcuts there s a long pause than a message "You cannot have two workbooks with the same name open at the same time" I have found out the cause - my internet connection had temporarily failed and I had been, without my knowledge, directed to the local copy instead of the copy in the cloud. Everything still worked (as it should) except ribbon items which I now know are specific to the file location - I had set up the ribbon when connected to the cloud and none of the shortcuts worked when connected to the local copy. When OneDrive makes the otherwise seamless switch from cloud to local my custom Ribbon group no longer functions. This is going to be a pain when I am travelling. I thought I could get around this by having Excel always open my file from the local copy but I cannot find out how to do that. I even created a shortcut to open the file - pointed at the local copy - but when the cloud is connected it seems automatically to open the cloud copy. Help !
