I keep getting a miniture auto fill drop down box on the sheet. I don't need it and it obscures parts of the spread sheet. I have tried to get rid of this before.

Can't post the sheet as the pop up only apears while I am working.
It is a minuture drop down box that apears when am working on it.

This is what is happening. I edit an excel sheet and get a pop up miniture drop down box labeled Auto fill option. The drop down has
(.) Copy Cells
(.) Fill Series
(.) Fill formatting only
(.)Fill without formatting
(.) Flash fill.

Yes p45 I had forgotten that I had posted this before. This has been annoying me for over a year now. This is NOT a display bug. This is a MS drop down box. What part of it being a display bug do you mean. I have never had unusual things apear on my desktop depending on my screen resolution or app resolution. It is clearly a Microsoft issue.

Unless there are bugs that have drop down boxes when you click on them.

This is not a bug, this is newer versions of Excel trying "to be helpful"!

You are lucky it is asking you at all, instead of deciding for you!

I have had a cases, when filling the column with values, which were repeating some earlier entries sometimes, and when I was not following closely what Excel was messaging there, the whole column was filled with some nonsense.

All right, it's a bug in MS Excel's software that causes the Autofill options button to remain visible (displaying) and clickable when it should disappear, for example, when you click anything else, press the escape key, or do anything else.
It appears for me when I drag the 'anchor' to copy cells.

It doesn't happen to everyone all the time, so it's probably low on Microsoft's priority list to fix.

In the meantime, several workarounds have been shown to work at the link ( windows - How can I dismiss the floating "Auto Fill options" button in Excel 2010? - Super User ) thet I left at your last thread. All of them work for me.
