Default An Add-Ins group/button has been added to the end of the Home Tab. Can't be modified. Rel. 2308

In release 2308 for both Office 2021 and Microsoft 365 an Add-Ins group with one button has been added to the right end of the Home Tab in Office applications.

This seems to duplicate the first Add-Ins button on the Developer Tab but has a different icon.
It cannot be modified using the Customize the Ribbon dialog and I know of no other way to get rid of it.
Someone at Microsoft thinks that the Store Add-Ins are not getting enough attention from users. To me, this is a waste of valuable screen real estate.
It is the subject of at least two posts on the Microsoft Answers Word forum.
I posted a discussion about it in the Microsoft Answers Excel forum and I've posted negative feedback about this. Feel free to comment and vote.
Excel: I do not want or need the Add-Ins group/button on the Home Tab. Please at least let me remove it. · Community

I posted a similar note in the Word forum.

This is not in the workbook. It is a change to the application interface for all Office programs in Windows.
This started with update release 2308.

The following has been tried ? :

"1. Click File > Options > Add-ins

2. Towards the bottom of the window, where it says Manage, click the Go button

3. In the dialog box, select the add-ins you want to disable or remove

4. To disable the add-in, just uncheck the box in front of its name. To uninstall the add-in select it and click Remove

5. Click OK to save your changes and return to your document"

And the following as been tried ? :

"I would suggest you try online repair to repair the Office applications, please follow the steps below:

1. Right-click the Start button, and select Apps and Features on the pop-up menu.

2. Select the Microsoft Office product you want to repair, and select Modify.

3. In the window How would you like to repair your Office Programs, select Online Repair > Repair to make sure everything gets fixed."

This sounds like a nuclear fix :

"You can try the following steps to clear the add-ins in Registry editor, please follow the steps below:

1. Right click Start and click Run, type in "regedit".

2. Go to \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel \Addins and \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Word\ Addins.

3. Delete the add-ins folder.

If the problem still doesn't resolve, I would suggest you reinstall Office, first, please use Easy fix tool in this article: Uninstall Office from a PC to completely uninstall Office, then reinstall Office."

Or there is this :

How to remove a command from the Quick Access Toolbar
Click on the down arrow next to the Quick Access Toolbar to open up the customization panel.
Choose More Commands.
More command icon
From the right side column, click on the command you want to remove.
Click Remove.

Logit, you fail to understand the problem. This is a change to Office by Microsoft, not an Add-In.

A workaround has been suggested by trip_to_Tokyo to create a duplicate Home tab without the Addins Group using Customize the Ribbon dialog.
Redirecting
It will work but should not be necessary.

I attempted to suggest new resource material that might not be related to an ADD-IN.

Hopefully the suggestions made by others will be of better service. Best wishes in your search.
