Excel keeps asking me if I want to save an already saved file.
Hi. I have an excel (attached). If I save it and leave it open, when I try to close it 5 minutes later it askes me even though I saved it before. This has been driving me nuts for ages. |

How long did you give it? Make a change, save it and leave it for 10 minutes.

Just let the file run for 30 minutes. No reaction here.

Well it is happening on my computer since I declined an upgrade to W11. I think this is Microsoft dirty tricks. Ever since I refused to upgrade to windows 11, the computer has been behaving strangely. They do that if any pirate software is found when they scan the computers. The mouse re configures itself when not used to left mouse button down and files dragged around. It can’t understand what app is required to open a MS word document and it asks me if I want to save a saved file.

I agree with your assessment of how Windows can screw with your files. I researched online how to prevent Windows from automatically upgrading itself. Made all the changes and inserted all the "blocks" to keep the upgrades away. So far my computer has run smoothly ... no upgrades ... no problems
Windows gets frustrated because it can't upgrade itself. I keep getting notices about the lack of upgrades but just click them away and my computer continues to run great. |

How do you block upgrades?

I don't have all the steps written down. Sorry.
You can 'google' a solution. Search for : PREVENT WINDOWS 10 UPGRADES. |

I was wondering whether there's an issue with *where* you're saving the file. Is it cloud based, on the computer itself, or on a network? Is it possibly some place that backs up to the cloud? I didn't see any macros in the file itself; that was my original thought, that there was some code prompting you to save.
