In the attached, conditional formatting has been applied to D2:D15. It doesn't matter whether the cells in column D contain text, numbers or a formula.
Bear in mind that conditional formatting makes the cell appear blank; it still contains the data that was there when the value in column E is not 1. The CF formula is =$E2=1 it's applied to D2:D15 the conditional formatting applied is: ;;; |
