Problem linking to Excel with ODBC DSN
I started this off in the Mail Merge Forum, but I suspect it beliongs here - we'll see !
I am trying to create a mail merge document in Word but when I try and link it to an Excel workbook ODBC DSN comes up with the error message "The Data Connection Wizard cannot obtain a list of databases from the specified source". I had thought this was a Word issue, but I have found that the ODBC DSN method works perfectly well when trying to connect to Access databases. So I believe that it may be Excel that is preventing the link from being made. Does anyone have any idea what settings might need to be changed ? Trust Centre perhaps ? I will get another PC where this works and open Excel side-by-side and simply compare all the settings. I might be wrong so I would be grateful for any insights please. Thanks, Martin |

This seems to be solved in your other thread ? https://www.msofficeforums.com/mail-...ew-source.html
If so, please let us now so that our volunteers do not waste time unnecessarily and mark this thread as "solved" ( see "Thread tools"). Thx

Didn't know I could do that.
I do now, and have done so. |
