Edit Link
We keep seeing this message "We can't update some of the links in your workbook right now" How does linking to a workbook work and how do we fix this? |

Under the DATA Ribbon, look for the Edit Links. That will identify the files used in formulas. The file path may be obscured if it is long.
If you have access to the INQUIRE add-in, you can run a Workbook Analysis to identify cells using external links and the formula with the external link. |

The Edit Links dialog shows the links in formulas that are easy to find.
Unfortunately there are other places that links can hide that are WAAAYY harder to track down. Also unfortunately, those sneaky links can get added by copy/pasting ranges from other workbooks without first making sure those features are not being used in the copied ranges. The other places that external links might be hiding are in: - Named Ranges - Validation Lists - Conditional Formats
