Formula to find number of air filters I can use
Hello all the genius
Its always a big task for me to pull out different size of air filters from my warehouse to alter it to smaller size according to my customers requirements If anybody advise me a formula to find out what are the sizes and how many air filters I can remove from my existing stock to meet my customers demand. I am pretty sure that this will help me to save a lot of my time instead of arranging back the excess filters after alteration. I really appreciate your advise. Thank you |

Can you make 4 20*25*1 (you have none, the customer wants 100) from 1 20*25*4 (you have 108, so you might be able to make 100 from 25 of them) ? As another example, the customer wants 115 of 20*20*1, you have no 20*20*1 at all in stock, but you do have stock: Sl 1: 20*20*2 (300 of them) and also Sl2: 20*20*2 (576 of them) so can you supply 115 of 20*20*1 from about 58 of 20*20*2 ? |

Hi P45cal,
Once again thank you for your questions. Thing is that if I cannot make/alter filters based on my current stock, its fine. I will supply those sizes later. But at least if I get a formula to find out what size I have to use and how many I can make that will be great Thank you. |

The attached is a mess but is only work in progress.
I've concentrated on 'Which are the sizes I can use from my existing stock to meet my customers demand?' because there are currently no exact matches of the requirements in stock at all. There's a table at cell K3 of the attached which is a repeat of your table at cell F3 with an added column which is a list of stock Sl Nos where there is not zero stock and where you should be able to cut the required size from larger stock sizes. The list is in the same order as your existing stock list. At the moment, that list lists the SL No and the stock size in the form: SL No: nn*nn*n If the data in either of your 2 tables change, to update the new table, right-click it and choose Refresh. Does this look like it could be the start of a way forward for you? |

Note I've updated the file attached to my previous message about an hour after I first posted because of an error.

Dear P45cal,
Thank you soo soooo much for your assistance... I will work on this file and if I need any additional help definitely I will get back to you. Also I will update you with proper sizes that we are going to provide to our customers. So that you can assist me again with the qty I can pull out from my existing stock. Thank you very much. |
