Default How can I plot data points on time axis proportionally to time scale?

Hello,

I have a graph that plots time against "levels" (see attachment).

On the time axis, it spaces the data points apart by the same amount regardless of their value. For example, as you can see in the attached spreadsheet, the data points at 5:30 and 11:15 are spaced apart by the same amount as the data points at 11:15 and 12:00 even though the first is a 5 hours and 45 minute difference and the second is only a 45 minute difference.

What I would like to do is space the data points apart in proportion to the difference in the values. In other words, the first and second data points should be almost 8 times the distance apart as the second and third data points.

How can I get Excel to space out the data points in proportion to the difference in the values?

Thanks.

Like this?

I changed type to XY Scatter, added lines between points. For X-axis, I set Number category to Time, and set Major Units to 0.25.

That looks great Avri! How did you create the lines between the points?

activate Chart, and double-click. Format Chart Area window activates at right. Click on any point of Data Serie on graph - Format Data Series window is activated. Set Line to 'Solid line'.
