Default Conditional Formatting

I want to format the font on a cell based on the value of another cell and I can't figure out how to do it...

Example... If $A16 is the letter Y then I want the font color in $F16 to be red.

Thank you

Here you go!

You create a separate rule for every condition;
You use formula as rule type;
In current situation, neither setting 'Stop if True' or changing rules order doesn't affect the result, as there is no way several conditions are true for same field.

Hi

Select cell A16 > Home Tab > Conditional Formatting > New Rule > Select - Use a formula to determine which cell to format. In the "Format values where this formula is true:" type the following "=$A$16="Y", click format button and apply your format preference.

Err, I don't think so...
To format F16 you select F16 not A16

OP asked for $F16 so the condition would be =$a16="y" ( guessing)

Of course with an example sheet it would have been MUCH easier
