If-then formula?
Ok, I need help. I took two formulas and tried to combine them to make I sort of If-Then formula. If LEFT is true, then count the amount to the right. Please help!
=IF(([Orderfilling.xlsx]LEFT(Sheet1!K5:K50),"CP"=TRUE, SUM([Orderfilling.xlsx]Sheet1!L5:!L50)) Edit: Actually, this formula is probably close to what I'm trying to do, but still flawed; =IF(ISNA([Orderfilling.xlsx]Sheet1!K5:K50,"CP"=TRUE, SUM([Orderfilling.xlsx]Sheet1!L5:!L50)) |

Your syntax is incorrect for the IF function and the LEFT function
Might I suggest you search for the correct syntax first? |

How about this example? I want the Total sheet to give me the sum of every item with "Inventory" to the left of the cell listed in the Amount sheet.

I got it now. It was a SUMIF formula. Thank you. =SUMIF(Amount!B2:B50,"*"&"Inventory"&"*", Amount!C2:C50) Edit; for those interested in the correct formula for the original post, it was =SUMIF([Orderfilling.xlsx]Orderfilling!$K$5:$K$50, "CP", [Orderfilling.xlsx]Orderfilling!$L$5:$L$43) |

Good show !
You could also have used the SUMPRODUCT function, which is more flexible but somewhat more complicated to use |
