have you tried to make a copy of the file via windows explorer?
press the windows key and e, the navigate to the location of your file then right click on it > copy, paste it int he same folder and it should called copy of....... or another folder then open the copy and see how it looks. I know excel keeps back up copies now dayts, but not sure what it will look like in 2010
