There is a formula to automatically generate ascending numbers based on the neighboring cell?

Tanks in advance!

Its much easier if you add a workbook rather than a screen dump.

Try =COUNTIFS($A$1:A1,A1)

Note the locked first A1 then the unlocked second A1. That gives you an expanding range

one more question
on the same example, can the numbers be repeated according to the cells in column A?

AAA 1
AAA 1
AAA 1
BBB 2
BBB 2
CCC 3
CCC 3
CCC 3
