Why does the total row of my pivot table not tie to the real count using distinct count

Hi all

I am really confused. I made a pivot table and used "distinct count", In doing so, I get a total for the count but it doesn't tie if I added up all the rows manually. Its like the total is the distinct total, but the rows are not. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. I am adding an attachment for an example.
