IF Formula
Would someone kindly help me with a formula?
In cell B11, I have the following formula: =IF($D11,"√"," ") How do I change the formula if I want the following: If the user types a date, I want a check mark in B11. If the user types NA, I want B11 to be blank. Your help is greatly appreciated. Karen |

Without utilizing VBA, all you can really do is check to see if the cell contains a number.
=IF(ISNUMBER(D11),"a","") Dates are simply numbers. 1 Jan 1900 = 1 and today = 44045. It's been that many days since 1 Jan 1900. Format the cell with the formula as Marlett. if you want to keep what you had... =IF(ISNUMBER($D11),"√"," ") |

I had had difficult experiences filling out forms asking for a check mark inside tick boxes. Thank you Jeff for the Marlett format. I didn't know about it until now.
