Excel converting answers to dates from Google Forms
I have downloaded a CSV file from Google Forms which contains data from respondents. But when I open the file, I realize Excel is converting some of the data to dates. For example, if someone indicated "5-6" as a multiple choice answer, then Excel is reading it as 5-June (6 being the month and 5 being the day). I have tried to go back and change the multiple choice answers to "5/6" on the form itself, thinking the "-" is the issue, but it seems it is still not working. Also, this won't be possible if it is a comment box and respondents themselves write answers like "5-6", "6-8", etc. When I change the format of those cells to text, I get random numbers like 43500. |

Could you attach such a CSV file here?

Open Excel (no file is open). Select Open File dialog, set file type to any type, and open your csv-file. When allowed to determine column formats, set format for answers column to text.
