Default Adding a decimal point in an already existing column of numbers

Hi all

I have a column of numbers that I want to add a decimal point after the third digit. is there a way to do that? I originally did a text to column and split the number where I wanted to, added a column with just the decimal point than concatonated the three columns. Unfortunately for me my boss pointed out the the preceeding zero's that should have been there were dropped when I split the number. (see below). Is there something I can do to prevent the zero's from dropping? Thanks in advance.
