Total cells based on text color

Hi All,



Is it possible to total a range of cell values based on the text color i.e.

6 cells 2 are in Green and 4 are in Red.

I want to get the value of each set.

Hi Dave,

There are many tutorials on-line to show one how to do this, but I would ask first, how do the cells get colored in the first place?

If by some criteria, why not use that criteria to obtain a sum.

Anyway, see if this helps...

The list is based on my stamp collection and those stamps I have I put the purchase price in a cell and color it myself. Other cells have the current price and I color those in red. I can total the list but just wanted to try and split it up so that I can see the values of what I've got and what I need.

I'll have a look at the link you've put up and see it that can give me some clues.
