Default How to update lastname with the help of V-Lookup formula?

Hi all,

I have 2 excel files.
In the first excel first column,
Dan
Sara
John

In the second excel first column,
Dan Wast
Sara Marine
Smith Disuzza

I would like to update the last name in first excel on the basis of second excel matching first name.

Output-
Dan Wast
Sara Marine

Many Thanks.

A good example why it is better not to store composite info in table. When you have separate columns for fore- and last names, you always can easily calculate full name, and you don't need to have complex formulas whenever you need some part on this full name instead.

In added file are formulas for case when name parts are on separate columns, and also when full name is used instead.

The right formulas are here! (The previous ones worked only until there were no gaps for matching names in sheet 2!)
