Can't get AND function working
Greetings!
I have a big problem. I can't get AND function working withing my IF formulae. Even if I use examples from the Excel's own help =IF(AND(1<A3, A3<100), A3, "The value is out of range."), it keep saying that "The formula you entered contains an error". My regional settings are set to use comma rather than dot as a decimal separator - can that be the source of the problem? Any other ideas? Please help! |

Can you copy from excel cell, the exact formula, and paste it into this forum.
I'll copy paste into excel to see if it works. |

I cannot paste a formula from a cell, because it won't allow it into the cell in the first place. I suspect that it is down to my regional settings which use comma rather than dot for the decimal separator. But I don't know if it's true and how to deal with that.

I see what you mean.
When I copy paste from post #1, the formula works. If I then change all commas , to fullstops . then I get the message "The formula you typed contains an error" Do you have any formula that contain a comma that work ? Either in that spreadsheet, or another ? |

I managed to find a way around. It turned out that ";" replaces the "," in my case. The formula writted words if written like that: =IF(AND((E2<D2);(E2>D3));"OK";"FAIL"). That's good.
