Default Auto Colors in Cells?

Hi,

I am using MS Excel 2007. I would like to know whether we can do the following:

If I write 2 in Cell A1, The Cells A2 & B2 to be automatically colored in red (as in the attached image file. If I increase the number in Cell A1 the A2 & B2.......etc. should be colored according to number written in the Cell A1.

Thanks.

Thanks. It doesn't change the cells color when I change the value in A1. Say, If I write 15 in Cell A1, it doesn't fill the below 15 cells with color. In the same way if I write 5 in Cell A1, it doesn't remove the color from extra 4 Cells.

Please make it clear.

Thanks.

Not sure why the first one didn't function as expected (posting issue?).

Here's a second attempt.

In case there's a problem here as well, then you may need to build it manually.

1. Select the entire second row of your sheet.

2. Got to "Conditional Formatting", and set "Formula is:

Code:
=$A$1>=COLUMN()
3. Select the red background colour, and click Okay.

Cheers,

Thanks. It is quite nice in your worksheet. But where can I write the formula in "Conditional Formatting" because there are several options. Which one is appropriate to write the above code? Please do further help.
