Default Do not calculate when multiple separated cells are all blank

Hi Everyone - I want to write an IFS formula to display YES if the sum of 3 separated cells (they are not in a continuous range) equals zero; displays NO if the sum of the same 3 cells is <> zero; and does not calculate at all when all three separated cells are blank.

I can write the IFS formula just fine for the first two conditions: =IFS(A1+B5+C10=0,"YES",A1+B5+C10<>0,"NO")

...but I can't seem to figure out how to write the formulate so it will not calculate at all when all three cells are blank.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

Hi, my operating system does not support the IFS function although I am using Excel 2016 version so try this formula and replace the IF with your IFS where appropriate

=IF(AND(A1="",B5="",C10=""),"",IF(A1+B5+C10=0,"YES ","NO"))

Smile Thank you!

Thank you Marcia!!! Your suggestion worked perfectly! I didn't even use IFS, I just inserted your formula, which was also more concise than what I had written. I really struggled with this so I am VERY appreciative of your feedback.

Microsoft Excel Forum - you rock...!!!

I think your IFS would be =IFS(AND(A1="",B5="",C10=""),"",A1+B5+C10=0,"YES", A1+B5+C10<>0,"NO")
(which is much longer)
