Do not calculate when multiple separated cells are all blank
Hi Everyone - I want to write an IFS formula to display YES if the sum of 3 separated cells (they are not in a continuous range) equals zero; displays NO if the sum of the same 3 cells is <> zero; and does not calculate at all when all three separated cells are blank.
I can write the IFS formula just fine for the first two conditions: =IFS(A1+B5+C10=0,"YES",A1+B5+C10<>0,"NO") ...but I can't seem to figure out how to write the formulate so it will not calculate at all when all three cells are blank. Can anyone help me figure this out? |

Hi, my operating system does not support the IFS function although I am using Excel 2016 version so try this formula and replace the IF with your IFS where appropriate
=IF(AND(A1="",B5="",C10=""),"",IF(A1+B5+C10=0,"YES ","NO")) |

Thank you!
Thank you Marcia!!! Your suggestion worked perfectly! I didn't even use IFS, I just inserted your formula, which was also more concise than what I had written. I really struggled with this so I am VERY appreciative of your feedback.

I think your IFS would be =IFS(AND(A1="",B5="",C10=""),"",A1+B5+C10=0,"YES", A1+B5+C10<>0,"NO")
(which is much longer)
