Default search a list while typing in a cell

Is there anyway to make a cell in excel to act like a search box?

For example you have a name list in a separate sheet or column. While typing on a cell, a macro or formula would automatically search for a match on the name list... (and make popping suggestions of data to enter when a match is found in the list. Is there any such feature ?) Thank you.

Not an exact solution but you can use a drop down menu.
Choose the list of names, right click with mouse and select "Name a Range" and then give a name to the area you have selected; ie: NameList

Go to the cell which you want to do search. On the Data menu, choose Data Validation/Data Validation. Under Settings /Allow choose List.In Source write =NameList (or the name you have given)

Now you can choose from the menu the list of names.
