Hi
enter 01-01-01 in A1 then in A2 Code:
="01-"&TEXT(CEILING(ROW()/5,1),"00")&"-"&TEXT(IF(RIGHT(A1,2)*1=5,1,RIGHT(A1,2)+1),"00") Edit : supposing you start on row 1

Wait! At 01-04-05! I have to check the formula, but it takes some time. I have to connect to another computer. It stops at 03-04-05 - what is right as Limit1=3, Limit2=4 and Limit3=5. |

I would suggest refreshing your browser page regularly (F5) to see what's going on. Answers can come very fast on a forum ( or sometimes very slowly)

I was distracted - my wife had some tasks for me meanwhile
And I learned on hard way not to refresh anything when writing the post (or at least when editing). When I edit the post, then sometimes I cant save the edited post (simply nothing happens). Now, when this happens, I copy the whole post and then refresh the sheet. As result the editing window is closed! After I lost some work this way, now I open the post anew for editing, and paste it over with copied text. I haven't tried yet, how new post will behave, but logically not very differently! |

There is a saying in French ( and probably an equivalent in English) :"Ce que femme veut, Dieu le veut".
So if the missis had tasks for you you had a high priority mission ! You're right about refreshing and editing, I hadn't thought about that one. I usually " soft delete" answers as long as no links to cross posts are provided, and undelete when they are. Let's see if the OP follows up on this one. Cheers
