Date Format

Cell A1 holds a date, 6/15/2018. Cell formatted as a date.
Cell AK2 holds this formula: ="Expirations before "&A1
Formula returns: Expirations before 43266

Need formula to return: Expirations before 6/15/2018

How is this done?
