Dear colleagues,
I know the topic is very simple and has been discussed and solved many times, but I did not have a quick solution, and I think you can solve the problem in seconds :-), if I put data from a special software (sensor) in an Excel column, Excel writes instead of numbers months as in the appendix, I have even tried everything with cells formatting, nothing helped. can I do that with a rule or formula? if yes how? Are data written into Excel by some code?
What is decimal delimiter in your regional settings (as you seem to be from Germany, you probably have comma as decimal delimiter)? What is decimal delimiter in program writing data into excel worksheet (looking at your example data, it looks like it is point)? When no other solution will work, you can format the column, where data are written, as text, and use a worksheet formula in another column to convert the text to numbers. |

Formatting according NBVC's advice must be dome before data are written into column. Currently Excel interprets entered numbers as date texts, and converts them to dates (Excel date is number of days from 01.01.1900), except a couple of them which excel can't convert.
Remove all formats from cell with value 18.86 in it. Is it formatted to left or to right? When to left, then it is interpreted as text by Excel. |
