Default Federal financial rounding?

Using the correct payroll tax multiplier for social security and medicare in a spreadsheet I get a total value of xx.3255. The spreadsheet rounds the value up to xx.33. According to separate accounting software, the correct value is xx.32.

2 questions:

1. Does the government not round up values at or greater than 5?

2. Is there a way to tell the particular spreadsheet to not round up at .5 but to do so at .6 for example?

You can use the RoundDown function, something like this:

=ROUNDDOWN(A1*0.2333,2)

Regarding Fed Financial, I don't know.

Instead of by the cell, can you tell the entire sheet to round down?

No, you can not round down an entire sheet. But remember you only need to create the formula one time and then copy it.

If the cell formula is =SUM(E5:H5), what is the position and syntax of ROUNDDOWN relative to SUM?

Like this:

Code:
=ROUNDDOWN(SUM(E5:H5),2)
Here's the syntax description.

Cheers,
