Default Pivot table problem

Hi all

I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I've got a problem with this pivot table:

In your opinion, how good a job do you think the police are doing in your local area?Count of A1QUARTERA1Total1Excellent29Good179Fair127Poor36Very Poor71 Total3782Excellent34Good203Fair149Poor37Very Poor162 Total4393Excellent30Good181Fair112Poor29Very Poor163 Total3684Excellent23Good173Fair105Poor33Very Poor134 Total347Grand Total1532

Essentially the totals are displayed at the moment as counts. I want to display each one by a % of the "Quarter" they are in. I can get a % of the grand total but not of the sub-totals. % of row or column obviously doesn't work. When I pick Quarter as a Base Field I then need to specifiy a Base Item, but this needs to vary depending on the quarter. Does anyone have any advice?

As a practical example, the first line shows "Excellent" as 29 for quarter 1. I need this to show as a % of 378, the first sub total, not of the grand total. The second "Excellent" needs to show as a % of 439, and so forth.

I can't seem to upload the document which I know is a pain.

Any help would be very gratefully recieved, and would really speed up my work on this report.

Many Thanks

swindon

Sorry, please ignore, pivot table won't copy and paste. Will find another way to show it.

Make Quarter be the column field. make the other field be both the Row field and the Data (values to be counted) field.

Right-click on one of the counts and choose Value field Settings.
Go to the Show Values As tab
UIse the drop-down to choose Show value as % of column total
