Howdy,
I am trying to drag and copy a formula to alot of cells, The formula is: ='Master Index'!$AB4 I am trying to use an absolute value for column AB and not row 4; however, when I drag and apply the formula to all the other cells it is as if the formula was $AB$4. What do I need to do to lock the formula to just the AB column. |

When editing the cell, you can use F4 to toggle through all combinations (AB4, $AB4, AB$4, $AB$4). I don't know if using this tip will solve the problem. Your formula appears correct. I've never seen this type of error. You might try writing the formula in the cell by entering the equal sign with the keyboard, selecting AB4 with the mouse, and using F4 (in this case, 3 times) to set the absolute/relative state you want.
Are you referencing a cell on a separate tab (Master Index)? |

I did try using to F4 button, however it gave me the same results.
I tried to trouble shoot the equation by changing the column reference from $AB to just $A and it worked. I am trying to reference a row of cells on a separate tab. |

I have solved the issue. I needed to use the =transpose() function.
