Default Formula to enter value based on value of another cell

I am using Excel 2007 and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I need to create a formula based on the value of a different cell, i.e., I want to put a formula in B1 that is dependent on the value of A1: If the value of Cell A1 is 3.51 or higher, then the value of Cell B1 should be 6. If the value of A1 is between 0.00 and 3.50, the value of Cell B1 should be 12. Is this doable? Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to answer!

Hi and welcome to the board
In B1 try =IF(AND(A1>0,a1<=3.50),12,IF(A1>3.50,6,""))

Default Perfect!

Works like a dream, thanks so much. Is there a Nobel prize for formulas?

I wouldn't know about Nobel prizes, but this one is very basic.
Try to learn how it works , that will help in the future
