Default is sit possible to auto populate a cell based on dates

Hi all

I am in a bit of a dilemma. I have 7k lines of data where I am going through to determine if certain factors makes the line a "Y" or a "N". Please see attached. Column "D" (Retract Y/N), will be populated by Y or N depending on if column "C" (TYPE) is an "E&M" and also occured just one day before the "PRE-OP" line. (see line 2) if the line is "PAID". Can this even be done?

Thanks in advance for any information that can be provided.

Could you please add some more expected results ( with eventually a short explanation) to your sheet? Thx

Hi Peco and thanks for replying. Unfortunately I am not sure what else I can add. Just a quick and easy way to get the results I previously explained. I just need to determen if the E&M lines are dated prior to the Pre-Op line per MEMNO.

Does this work?

=IF(AND(B2="PAID",C2="E&M",SUMIFS($E$2:$E$21,$A$2: $A$21,A2,$C$2:$C$21,"PRE-OP")=E2+1),"Y","N")
