Question Excel Office 365 Mac - Colour Change after copied to Workbook

Hello - I've 2 simple spreadsheets originally designed on Mac (latest OS) then exported to Excel (again latest Office365) - they work fine individually however I've tried to copy them into an Excel workbook and their whole appearance has changed - cell colours used to differentiate columns header information etc (the new colour scheme is random&vivid to put it politely, renders the spreadsheets all but unusable) - any help/advice very welcome.
