Not repeating random numbers
Hi from Sydney, Australia.
I am designing a "tables test" for students, twenty-five multiplication questions and twenty-five division questions. It is easy to generate random numbers between 2 and 12, and thence to calculate the answers. However, I don't want to repeat the same question e.g. 2 times 8 = 16 ... I don't want that repeated later in the list. Is there an easy (!!) way to do this, please? I have attached the current excel file for your perusal. Thank you in advance - ken |

In columns B and D in Sheet1 I have shown a method. All the calculations are made in a new sheet, Sheet3.
Take a look and see if it is something that you can use. |

Tables Test 3
Thank you so very much! I've extrapolated your calculations to the other columns ... I think I have it correct now! Thanks for your help! ken
