I am having an issue with Excel Not Responding and then having to force close it and restart pretty much constantly.
I have an VBA coded workbook "test.xlsm" 3,342 KB that 25 to 30 people use and this problem is happening with only 2 people out of this group but is happening regularly. They are losing work and having to redo things and so on. With that being said....They are operating another visual measuring program at the same time called On-Screen Takeoff. They are experiencing the crash when click on this program and then clicking back to the excel file to type. Going back and forth between programs every few seconds causes them the most lag and then ultimately the Not Responding error. The other program never crashes so we assume the problem does not exist with it. It is as if the Excel Program turns off when the other On-Screen Takeoff program is clicked on....then when Excel is activated again it can't catch up fast enough to work and just crashes. Hope that makes sense. I have downloaded OffCAT onto these PC's and then run the diagnostic test but the only issue that comes up is an update error. We have updated Excel and still no resolution to the Not Responding issue. I have tried to set the priority of Excel as Realtime in the CTRL+ALT+Delete "Details" Tab but this has not fixed the problem either. These PC's have 16GB RAM Intel Core processors so I don't think the speed is the issue. They both operate multiple monitors so we have updated graphics card drivers but still no fix. If we open Excel in Safe Mode I don't really know what could be done that would then carry over in normal operating mode. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance. Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)?

I know our IT dept did that yes. In fact, one of the 2 people that are having this issue got a brand new computer in an attempt to fix this and still no resolve.

If running Excel in safe mode resolves the problem, it's almost certainly caused by a faulty 3rd-party addin. Try disabling all such addins, then re-enabling one at a time then re-testing till you find out which one is causing the problems. Then either uninstall or update that addin.
