Default Lookup and replace cell values

Hello -

I have 2 worksheets that contain data I would like to cross-reference from one worksheet and use to replace or add values to in another.
Win7 64-bit and Office 2013

In one worksheet I have 2 columns labeled Vendor_Name and Vendor_ID.
The Vendor name is just that, like ACME, INC and the Vendor ID is the corresponding ID number for that vendor, such as 1234

The other worksheet has the same Vendor_ID column but not a Vendor_Name and I would like to find a way to either -

1) Replace the Vendor ID number in the Vendor_ID column on the second worksheet with the matching Vendor_Name on the first worksheet, or -

2) Add a new column next to the Vendor_ID column with the matching Vendor_Name from the first.

I can't do it manually as there are over 2600 entries.
In the attached XLSX Sheet -
Sheet 1 / column A contains the Vendor ID number and column B on Sheet 1 we also see the vendor name.
Sheet 2 only shows the ID number.

The numbers are not sequential like you see in this example or I would just copy and paste that column in!

Any thought on how to populate the missing Vendor name will be most appreciated!

Hello & Welcome to the Forum,

On sheet2 in B2 copied down....

...I think you are looking for =VLOOKUP(A2,'SHEET 1'!$A$2:$B$10,2,0)
