Paste number only
Hi,
I am using design software Catia. I am taking the measurement dimension values often from that software and paste it in Excel sheet for further calculations. Dimensions will be for example ‘500 mm’. When I paste in Excel, it is pasted along with ‘mm’ in the number formatted cell. So, Excel shows error message. If I manually delete that ‘mm’ every time, it is time consuming. So, I checked the option in Excel for automatically delete that ‘mm’ when I paste the values. When I checked the internet, there is two options are available. One is ‘text import wizard’ and another is ‘Data validation’ But, I unable to find a solution. I need that should be applied for whole sheet. Kindly give any idea. Suresh |

If you have 500 mm from A1 and downwards you can for instance enter the following in B1:
=LOOKUP(9^9,--LEFT($A1,ROW($1:$100))) Copy down as needed. |

Hi XOR,
Thanks for the reply. It is working fine. Initially, it came with $ symbol. Then, I deleted that in format cells. Suresh |
