Old Query, get data from other sources, gets error message:
Microsoft query cannot be started because it is not installed ............. The effect is that it doesn't open the choose data source dialog box. (it used to work ok but apparently the integration of Power Query broke it). It does, however, open the actual Microsoft Query and if I click on New Query it opens the choose data source dialog box all works as before except there doesn't seem to be a way to load the query into the actual spreadsheet. Obviously query is installed but some config link is broken. I have spent hours with the help board to no avail and have tried everything I can think of. Power Query goes to the DSN choose box ok but only displays the 1st data base for selection rather than the entire list. Windows 10 pro insider build Ver 1607 build 1439.0. Office 2016 pro. version 16.0.707.2028 All updates in place. Am at a loss as to what to try next. Barry |
