Runtime error R6034
After uninstalling a program, I got a problem with Office 2010 stalling in the middle of some process or other. When I re-booted I found that Excel wont run and I get this error which is something to do with the C library. All other Office 2010 programs run fine - I'm running Windows 10. I've tried running it in safe mode - same error. I've tried repairing the install - same error. Anyone know what to try next? |

If no one has any other solutions for you:
I've not encountered this error, so I googled it. I see there are several sites saying they can resolve it. Since I've not tried any of them, I can recommend one over the other, but I'm sure if you read two or three possible solutions, you'll see what you need to do. |

Thanks for that suggestion - I've tried most of the solutions I could find to no avail. Most of the rest were offering a software download solution which I'm skeptical about - they seem to just be selling PC diagnostics.
The only thing that seems to work is if I start it in safe mode - which now works after several re-boots. But I don't now know what to do with that.... The issue as on the error message is to do with 'loading the C runtime library incorrectly'. |

Can you re-install the software whose un-installation appeared to start this? There's a good chance things will work properly afterwards.

Unfortunately, no - it was the Office 365 version of OneNOte whch proceeded to sync with an old version of my files in the cloud - after a lot of grief I eventually found the backup, but this program refuses to use it and kept re-loading/syncing the older file version. In desparation I went back to the Office 2010 version and whilst getting rid of One Note 365 I inadvertently deleted Office. I re-installed it but then got this issue with Excel.
