What I am trying to accomplish is to have excel open, then select another file, through windows explorer, and have it open within the already open excel window. Not open another excel window.
I have tried using the "/e" switch, and this does not work. I can also stack the icons on the toolbar, however this is not working either. I am using Windows XP Pro, and Office 2003. |

What you can do is clicking on the Excel Maximise button next to X on the top right corner. This makes the excel workbooks visible in one window.

Open the workbooks you want, then under the View tab, go to Arrange All and pick how you want to see both workbooks (do NOT click Window of active workbook)
Now you can easily Cut/Copy and Paste between the workbooks |
