Hello Corca,
I have attached a proposal for solution. In the solution I assume that you always enter (cell b9, b10) the highest value per row. If you can also select second the highest value, the solution needs to be built up differently (if that is the case, please inform me more about the logic of your data, and I will try to fix a new solution for you). Kind regards Bjorn |

Thanks,
Looking for it to look in range e1:h5 pick match for b9 then find name from name column b2:b5. Then put found name into A9. Need forumla to do the above without changing sheets layouts. Thanks for your input appreciated. |

Hi,
some short questions. Assume that also Tom Jones has a value of 30 in cell F3. How shall the formulas react if you enter 30 in cell B9? (since both Tom Jones and Ian Gilbee are vald answers in cell A9). Could the answer be any of those two? Is it possible that you enter "33" in cell B9, and like to get the answer "Peter Jones" in cell A9 (although he has another value, like 70, which is higher)? What result would you like to have in cell A9 if a zero is entered in cell B9? Should the formulas in A10+B10 works in exaclty the same way as the formulas in A9+B9? Regarding "not changing the layout", is it allowed to add any formulas on a separate worksheet OR below the data (line 15 and below)? Best regards Bjorn |

Hi again,
meanwhile I fixed a solution that I think meets the demands that you have specified. If several persons matches to the input data, the name closet to the top is chosen. Best Regards Bjorn |
