Angry Pivot Problem

hello everyone.

my knowledge of Excel is very rudimentary.

I have to do a pivot (please find attached).

this is about Call centre information.

the data is made up of an Area_Group (where the calls are generated from), a Destination (to where to call was made), Trn - which is the amount of call transferred to a Destination, and a TOTAL volume for every Area_group.

I have to calculate the % of Trn / Total Volume per Area Group (and supposedly all of those %'es should add up to 100% per Area_Group)

if you have a look at the attachment - the calculated ratio all work out at 100% which is impossible!

(I have created a calculated field that does this calculation called Ratio)

what am I doing wrong?

all help will be appreciated

Thank you

Not sure I can explain why it was showing up as 100%, but adjusting your Pivot Table range to include the % column on the Raw data tab, it all works out I think as you need.

Check out the attachment...

Thank you so much.

Weird that Excel cant make that sum by itself...

if you have a look at the file now, it has a total % right at the bottom. How do I get that out?

Not exactly sure what percentage you are wanting out?

If you are talking about on the PT, click on the PT

On the ribbon >> select Design >> Layout >> Work with the options there until you get your desired look

thanks Jeffrey,

How do I get it in the format with the Area_Groups going across at the top, and the Destination down on the left?

Are you not simply looking then for the Area_Grp as the Column Labels and the Transfer_destination as the Row Labels?
