Hi, I have a question and I need help.



I insert numbers to cell A5 with this format hh:mm
So, A6 is equal (A5/60)*100
When A5=2:30, then I hope A6 be 25 or 25% but it is not. Why?

Because 02:30 is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
To XL 1 hour is the same as 1/24 ( 0.10416667). To convert back to decimal you have to multiply by 24, which gives 2.5 (eventually format as number)

To get 25 % try =A5*24/10
