Default Copying data related to one item to worksheet with many instances of the same item

Hello,

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I don't even know which keywords to use to look it up.

I have an Excel file with two worksheets. The first is very large (over 18000 rows) and contains a list of words which are not in alphabetical order, as well as other information. There are about 200 different words which each show up in the list 50-100 times. The second worksheet contains an alphabetical list of the 200 words with data corresponding to each word in 10 columns. I would like to add the row of info corresponding to each word to each occurrence of the word in the first sheet. Is there a fairly simple way to do this? (I've resorted to sort and then copy, paste and drag, which is a little tedious).

Many thanks!

I think a Vlookup is what you need.

=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!A1:J200,2,FALSE),"None found")

This will return the value in the second column next to the word in Sheet2 that matches the word in A1 of Sheet1. If none is found, a message is displayed.

Thank you very much for your reply. I think my original message wasn't clear: I need to add the data from one word on Sheet2 to each occurrence of the word in Sheet 1. Will a modified form the formula be able to do this?

Thanks again for your help.
