Default Help Sorting and Subsorting

I have attached a spreadsheet I am trying to help a coworker with. We have added four columns to identify the colors for each item. Column AP is a generic tagline for the primary color and AQ is a generic tagline for the secondary color. I am struggling to sort the priorities by AP and then AQ. A0 is the primary color formula and AN is the secondary color formula. Can you help sort the spreadsheet with a priority AP, AQ, AO, and then AN? If you do a custom sort by that priority you will notice it still does not group them properly. I highlighted an example of two items that should be grouped together but have a gap.

Column AP contains the word "BLACK" ( 5 characters) and the word "BLACK " (6 characters extra space)

Perhaps in an empty column enter = TRIM(AP2), pull down as needed then

or Copy Paste Special - Values to AP

or Select the column you created
put the mouse arrow against the upperborder of this selection ( it turns to a arrow cross)
while pressing down the RIGHT mouse button drag the range to AP and release the button
In the menu that now appears select Copy here as values only

Then try sorting again

Thank you, Pecoflyer! That did the trick. This data was pulled from another program and I didn't even think to check if it had spaces. Duh! I was also unaware of the TRIM function. Thanks! I may have more questions tomorrow as I work on this some more, so I think I will open-up a new thread if so (unless it is better to keep this one going even though it may have a different topic).

You're welcome
As you suggest, it is better to start a new thread with, eventually, a link to this one.
Cheers
