remove
Replace hsa ---> With has from the "Replace text as you type" rules. |

This happens as Excel has an autocorrect feature which automatically changes some text.
Here is how to disable it: Go to File --> Options. In the Excel Options dialogue box, select proofing and click on AutoCorrect Options. In the Autocorrect Options dialogue box, there would be a scroll bar. Scroll down and you would find hsa within Replace. Select it and delete it. Now whenever you type hsa, it will not get converted to has automatically. Here is a snapshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zwjfdmqrxt...20has.png?dl=0 |

Thx, but someone in another forum came up with the answer.
BTW, none of the above works. ============= Try This.. Type HSA followed by a space Then hit CTRL-Z Press Enter Its a Dirty Fix but it works ============ Now maybe u can tell me what that is all about. |

That's not really the answer, that's a manual work around. You want something you don't have to baby sit.
Would sure seem to me that removing Replace hsa With has from the Replace text as you type list would prevent hsa from being changed to has. It does for me in Excel 2010. Try replacing the part that tells Office what hsa should be replaced with, make the replacement hsa and see if that does it. Upon further consideration, this might have something to do with the definition of doesn't work. I believe the auto-correct stuff is part of the overall Office installation on the computer, in which case the auto-correct adjustments would apply to the computer not the file. So the manual intervention would be necessary, at least some of the time. Last edited by NoSparks; 12-20-2015 at 01:14 PM. Reason: added further thought |

obviously, that is what it is reacting to.
I have "Ignore words in all caps" checked. HOWVEER, if that word were seen it should not change it as it is all caps, right? So what is wrong? Why is it ignoring my check mark? I there another utility in W10 overriding this? That wouldn't make any sense. |

It sounds to me like you're so hung up on that ignore all caps thing that you aren't even trying what's being suggested. I believe "Ignore words in all caps" is referring to the spell checking not the replace as you type. |
