Default Tracking Stock Shares Held/Sold & Current Value

Hello! I've recently taken on a new job as a CFP's assistant and am looking for a way to simplify her existing excel spreadsheets for tracking stock income and summary. What are some helpful formulas that I would be able to incorporate as a part of more efficient tracking? Also, is there a way to obtain current stock prices in an Excel spreadsheet without manually entering it? Thank you in advance!

Callie

Google "automatically get stock quotes excel". I saw one that used code and another that used something called "smart tags". Apparently, the smart tags can be activated in come versions via options/proofing. It is not on my version and the fix, running smartTagInstall.exe, didn't do anything as far as I can tell.

As far as "helpful formulas" to "simplify" your boss's spreadsheets, I have no idea given I don't know what you are using or trying to accomplish with the sheets.
