Can I do calculations with times?
I am doing an employee check in sheet. I want to enter the time an employee finishes for the day, compare that time to quitting time and display the amount of overtime worked if any. =IF(cell>6:30,cell-6:30,0) is what I am trying to use. Time isn't a valid value though.

If u just want to check the number of hours a person works, u can use
e.g. A2-A1, then in the Format Cells, custom format to [h]:mm Another method is to use the TIME function. e.g. =TIME(17,30,0)-TIME(9,25,0). The disadvantage is that it has no cell reference |
