Default Adding Months

Col A has a date in the format mmm/yy. Col 3 has a digit for the number of months. I want to add Aug-15 + 8 so Col H shows Apr-16.

I tried adding them together but the result is also Aug 15, I think because it added 8 days instead of 8 months.

Can I get it to add months together

EDATE is precisely the function you want. It returns the date for the specified number of months after a specified date.

Code:
=EDATE(A1,8)
