Default Can i automatically add a debit on the first of every month?

I have an excel spreadsheet that I use as my checkbook register; on the 5th of every month I make a mortgage payment. Can I somehow have the payment automatically entered into my spreadsheet on the 5th of every month?

Without seeing what you already have, it's difficult to help.

I think what I need is a "macro"?
Cell A 1 is todays date; what I would like is that when A 1 is 1/5/2015 or 02/05/2015 etc the cursor goes to the next empty cell in the A column and enters 01/05/2015; then go over one column and type "Citibank, then over one more column and enter $1,200. Is that doable?
